With the mobile technology getting more advance and all the latest generation mobile phones come with high-resolution mega pixel built-in cameras, do we still need to carry digital camera around when we travel?

It is a norm now that all mobile phone comes with tiny, lightweight cameras and with the update of the latest Sony Ericsson Cell Phones, it looks like the cell phones did have the sufficient functionality to replace the digital cameras. Comparing to a digital camera, it is definitely lighter to carry a cell phones than a digital camera.

The advantages of a cell phones over a digital camera is also that you can take a quicker and easier snapshots. Sometimes when you saw somethings interesting and want a quick shot, it is always easier to use a cellphone camera rather than your digital camera; you need to take out the normal digital camera from your bag, take it out of the casing, switch it on before you can use it. That’s probably a few seconds long and by the way you are ready, the scene or subject might be different.

And you know that at times, just the thought of taking out the digital camera and take a shot might just be too troublesome that you won’t do it as you think that it is not worth the effort to take that photo – but, with a camera phone, you probably will snap it away.

More importantly, though, you will definitely carry the mobile phone with you, but, not necessary your digital camera.

The current downside of a camera phone is that the memory is a lot lower than the digital camera. It will be interesting to see how advance the camera phones technology will be in the next few years; is it possible to have a higher memory storage on that small lightweight mobile phone. Will Sony Ericsson Phone gives us something to cheer about?

And is it possible for it to replace the digital camera?
