Canon PowerShot A85 Digital Camera

Canon PowerShot A85 digital camera, measuring 4.0 x 2.5 x 1.2 inch and weighs 200g, offers a 4.0-megapixel CCD and 3x optical zoom. The camera kit package include a 32MB CompactFlash card, four AA alkaline batteries, Wrist strap, USB interface cable, A/V cable, CD-ROM featuring Canon Digital Camera Solutions, ArcSoft Camera Suite and drivers, camera manual and software manual.

The A85 Canon digital camera is equipped with a 5.4-16.2mm lens, 3X optional zoom and offers a maximum aperture ranges from f/2.8 to f/4.8. In addition to the optical zoom, the Canon PowerShot A85 also offers as much as 3.6x digital zoom.

The PowerShot A85 model uses Canon’s Wide Area AiAF system and iSAPS technology to auto judge its focus and as the same time, offers a manual focus mode, displaying a numeric distance scale on the LCD display. The various flash modes of the A85 can be set by user, along with the Red-Eye Reduction setting through the Record menu.

Canon PowerShot A85 digital camera use four AA-sized batteries and images are stored on the 32MB CompactFlash memory cards that come with it. The 32MB memory card is clearly insufficient to hold too many images and it is advisable to get a higher capacity memory card as replacement.

The A85 camera has a USB jack that can be used for downloading images to a computer. In addition to that, an AV Out jack and the video cable allow you to connect the camera directly to a television for viewing. As the Canon PowerShot A85 is DPOF (Digital Print Order Format) and PictBridge compatible, you can also connect the camera directly to a PictBridge-compatible printer to print out the images without the involvement of a computer.

Canon PowerShot G5 Digital Camera

Canon PowerShot G5 digital camera, measures 4.8 x 2.9 x 2.8 inch and weighs 410g, is considered quite bulky and it is unlikely that it will fit into your pockets. It is basically the same as its predecessor, the PowerShot G3 model, except that it comes with a higher resolution. With the Canon G3 camera, you get a silver body color with 4 megapixel CCD sensor and 3.6x digital zoom, whereas the PowerShot G5 model comes with a higher 5 megapixel CCD sensor and 4.1x digital zoom with a solid black body color.

With its powerful 4x optical zoom lens, Canon PowerShot G5 digital camera provides users with a 35mm equivalent range of 35 -140mm, a fast maximum aperture of f/2.0-3.0 and macro focusing down to 2 inches. The additional 4x digital zoom extends the capabilities to provide photographers with 16x zoom functionality.

Some features of the Canon PowerShot G5 digital camera includes maximum shutter speed of 1/2000 second; 12 EOS System-based shooting modes for customizing the camera to the user’s shooting style; ISO flash hot shoe with TTL contacts for Canon EOS Speedlights; Wide-Area FlexiZone AF/AE system which allow users to focus on off-center subjects without repositioning the camera; built-in flash with five settings; AF-Assist Beam for proper autofocus in low-light conditions; magnified playback of images up to 10x; and full support for DPOF-format slideshows and image transfers.
